A last minute steak dinner Sat. with the available siblings. Definite blanket in the yard weather.

The job of a bee and our daddy

I think John Patrick realized yesterday that Daddy actually spends the nights in other cities sometimes. As opposed to just not being there at bed time.
We were riding home in the car and I was telling him Daddy won't be home when we get there, he is in Boston and he asked why. I told him that is Daddy's job. He flies people to other cities. He was with me on that. I said sometimes he stays there and brings people back the next day. He said, "I just wish somebody else's daddy would do that part." :-)
On to the bee...
We were walking (having a progressive picnic at each new bench, lawn or step) through Sawyer Point when we saw lots of bees buzzing around the beautiful trees. I said, "look at those bees working so hard." John Patrick said enthusiastically, "yep, just doing what God told them to do!" Sometimes I can actually hear myself speaking through him. :-) I asked if he remembered how he could bring God glory. "By loving him and doing what he commands." It was a wonderful reminder of our creator. (even with the evolution info stamped in the pavement as we walked.) I could just hear my own mother teaching us and pointing to all the beautiful nature. sigh. It was one of those rare but welcome moments when you feel like maybe by God's grace you are capable of parenting after all... then Dora stepped in the new clay tile that was just replaced around the water fountain. whatever. It was a good afternoon.

Here is a shot of our mobile Anella. She started on the opposite side of the room on her back and she arches her back and pushes with her legs and scoots straight backwards until she hits something and then turns to chew on it. :-)
