John Patrick turns 4 and LOTS more pics

John Patrick turned 4 on Sunday. These have easily been the fastest 4 years of my life and I have a feeling they're not going to slow down anytime soon. :-) John Patrick wanted a bug cake so we made little caterpillars out of grapes and blue-berries. Dora was allowed to help with the grass application. We got this idea from friends to have a "birthday hat" for each of our kids to wear on their birthday. We will add a new little something each year to remind of the that season of their life. You can't see it but on top of JP's hat is a little airplane made out of daddy's flight maps. JP LOVES when John gives his old maps away. He calls them "air pumps" for some unknown reason and what he doesn't know is that I'm constantly throwing them out because John has to update them a few times a month. :-) Poor John Patrick just couldn't get the candles blown out. Daddy and sweet lela to the rescue. Water balloons was definitely the highlight of this birthday. Does anyone else remember doing this with the balloons as a kid? He was all tuckered out as we were headed out for pizza for dinner. A fancy park somewhere up in Ohio was fun and they had these thick cushy mats under all the swings and at the bottom of the slides. The kids were soaked because it rained while we were having pizza but they weren't muddy thanks to the yuppie mats.
Speaking of yuppie, how about a picnic of Starbucks hot chocolate in the back of the Jeep since it started raining again while we were at the park. The kids thought this was GREAT fun! We did too until the clouds started looking threatening. When we got back in the car we learned they had spotted a tornado and we were sitting in the tornado warning zone. yikes! Lets head back south!! The next day celebrating at grammy's house. He was so surprised, he has been wanting to read Stuart Little but I've been holding out on him because Kara told me she bought it for him.
Aunt Kate got him this really cool Look-a-Like book. If you can find it at the library it is WAY cool. We've already spent hours picking out doors made of wallets, space ships out of thermoses and such. Aunt Kate and Anella

The best pool ever from Grammy!!
Hey Aunt Tate, hit me with one of the bug catching pictures will ya? My camera batteries were dead.
