Trying to forget

Since my sisters have rudely left me high and dry as they snuggle their little ones we have been trying to forget about it. We'll, I've been trying to forget about it. It's getting harder as the baby adds about 4 pounds a day I think. Until about a week ago I still felt a little... attractive. You know what I mean, like the sweetness of the belly deters from the hugeness of the rear, but as of last week I've lost all hopes of that. I did find however that my husbands basketball shorts are a very comfy alternative to anything I own so at least I can be comfy for the next three weeks. I know it's getting to the end when John Patrick asks if I want to sit somewhere by saying, "You want to plop yourself over here?" I'm sure he heard that from me but I still had to laugh!! Here is Dora enjoying a healthy lunch of Cheerios after church while I attempt to make some chili for the rest of us. I was trying to capture her full cheeks but they really don't look that different!! I love her cheeks.
We bought John Patrick his own pair of scizzors last weekend and he is so thrilled. Notice (below) how his mouth has to be open when they are open. It closes as the scizzors close. :-) I don't know where Dora's other piggy tail went...

One last summer sprinkler afternoon. Monday may be the last chance the kids get for running through the sprinkler and they had a great time. I caught JP seconds before he decided it would be a good idea to try aiming it around like a water gun and shooting it in the house. (He wasn't actually aiming for the house, probably for Dora, but the hard wood floor was going to be a victim.)

Common Speed for Buster

And the look is common too. It could say "I love you and I want to run into your arms" or "Look out Dora I'm about to plow you over" or "Check out my new super-duper running shoes"
One of the many joys of my little buddy is trying to figure out the look before he gets to you! :-)

New Friends and my Kroger experience

John Patrick is at the point where his age and his friends are very important topics. When anyone asks his age he will tell them he's three and then list all of his friends ages. With emphasis on who he is older than and what ages he will soon be. Even if "soon" is 2 years away.
I think he believes he will actually catch up with Jack.
Yesterday I walked into my bedroom to find him talking to his friend Michael.
Why was that strange?
Michael was his reflection in my full length mirror! :-)
I don't really mind because he was fully aware that it was his reflection. He kind of laughed while he was telling me who he was, but he wasn't ashamed, just amused with his game. Then he kissed Michael goodbye!
John was a little disturbed by this part of the story but we both realize that he kisses most important men in his life goodbye right now so Michael is no different. :-)

My Kroger story isn't as amusing as Katie's seem to be, but it seemed worthy of telling:
John Patrick likes to ride on the front of the cart out of the store and to the car. Today he was hanging on the front and I was pushing the cart into the...cart receptacle (I'm blanking on what this would be called...). He decided to jump off and duck under the railing right as a car is pulling into that spot. I yelled at him to stop while slamming my hand into the windshield of the minivan! Once I realized they were stopping and JP was out of harms way I realized how hard I slammed my hand into their window. Really, really hard!!!! Not that I wouldn't do the same thing again but I was a little afraid I was going to be chewed out by some 5o year old Triple Crown lady with a tennis outfit on. (Have any of you ever shopped at the Union Kroger? Good luck going once without seeing a 50 year old who looks better than you in spandex.) I digress... it was a dad in a minivan who got out of his car with a very understanding smile and said, "Don't even apologize I have 5 kids of my own."

So, thank you Father for watching over my children at all times!!! I'm grateful for the reminder of His sovereign protection.

Here she is!

Isn't she sweet! She is so pleasant and so tiny. I'm pretty sure my baby weighs more. :-)

I thought Dora was going to come unglued she loved her so much. John Patrick was, well, unimpressed. Maybe if Uncle Joe hadn't been home he would have cared more. When I said, "Don't you want to see baby Annie?" He replied, "No, I just want to play with Joe."

Ann Marie Zuerner

I'm sorry to keep you all waiting! I will get to hold precious Annie later today so I'll get some pictures then but here is one my mom took of her with PaPa.

She was born at 11:09 Saturday and only weighed 6lb, 4oz.!! Little thing! Kate only had a 9 hour labor and pushed for 30 minutes!! I was thrilled for her.

If you want to take a meal let me know. :-)
