Classic Anella

So we're at a city egg hunt waiting for Anella's turn in the 3-4 year old hunt. The area is roped off with caution tape and there are approximately 500 eggs carpeting the lawn. Anella looks up at me and asks, "Why is this called an egg hunt mom? It should just be called eggs on the ground." But then she goes on to tell me how she can't see the one's on the far side of the area quite so well (just because they're further away, not because they're hidden) so when the man says go she runs past 200 eggs in order to hunt her 6.
Later, on the walk back to the car she's still pondering the fact that these people have obviously not played egg hunt with John Patrick who likes to hide eggs in the Lego box (with the lid on) and she says, "Mom, isn't a hunt where you have to find something?"
There should be a section for the "3-4 year olds with older siblings".

Carefree

I just love this picture. So dreamy and relaxed. I just came across it in my lightroom mess of pictures and thought I'd share. I wonder if in 13 years from now she'll have a 5 year old son tell her she smells funny? She has no idea. Part of what makes 18 so much fun.

Resting with Jesus as we speak

They were a miracle of the time, these identical twin baby girls born at only 3 pounds each who would share a shoe box for a bed as infants.

"More than sisters" is how Grandma Dora plainly describes her closeness with her twin sister, Doris.

This afternoon Aunt Doris is resting in her saviors arms. But her dear husband (of 70 years)Don and Grandma Dora are morning her death, I know. Grandma said to us last week, "only God can help me accept this."

As Aunt Doris encouraged us a year ago in her Christmas card: "He will keep in perfect peace who's heart is stayed on him."

Please pray for Grandma Dora and Uncle Don to have God's perfect peace.

Two of my favorite people

We tried to take some pictures on a very, very cold and windy day. But this is my favorite one.
