So we're at a city egg hunt waiting for Anella's turn in the 3-4 year old hunt. The area is roped off with caution tape and there are approximately 500 eggs carpeting the lawn. Anella looks up at me and asks, "Why is this called an egg hunt mom? It should just be called eggs on the ground." But then she goes on to tell me how she can't see the one's on the far side of the area quite so well (just because they're further away, not because they're hidden) so when the man says go she runs past 200 eggs in order to hunt her 6.
Later, on the walk back to the car she's still pondering the fact that these people have obviously not played egg hunt with John Patrick who likes to hide eggs in the Lego box (with the lid on) and she says, "Mom, isn't a hunt where you have to find something?"
There should be a section for the "3-4 year olds with older siblings".

I LOVE this story! And yes, there should always be two categories of kids. Oldest and then younger siblings! ha! Do you remember practicing (out loud) for your first day of (sex education) classroom teaching? Do you remember what words you kept saying out loud so the shock value would go away? Kelly was sitting there and she never flinched. But I had to call her best friends mom and apologize like crazy...because she's a first born. tee hee
