Dora

Any similarities?
Just thinking...

Why do people ask me if we named Dora after the cartoon? Do people really name their kids after cartoons? I know now all about Dora the Explorer but MAN I didn't realize that she was such a big deal or that random mom's would comment on how cute it is that we named our daughter after her. I've learned to say, "Her name is Dora, after my husband's grandmother." I'm thankful we can always tell Dora about what an amazing woman her great-grandmother is, otherwise she may want to kill us someday!

Also on some kind of the same note. Here is what I heard one of the men pouring our new back patio yell to another one of the hard working Hispanic gentleman, "Hey, Juan, go get me some more short screws.... hurry.... ondalay....hurry, perfaver". no lie. Pretty sure you're not suppose to insult people like that, especially in a perfected hillbilly twang. I kind of wanted to throw the short screws at him myself.

PS. we have a new patio and it's great! someday when I have a camera I'll post pictures.

A good idea

I was going to post to let you all know that Madison Photo, where I have all my "important" photo's developed, is having a sale on all enlargements. (This is one of the photos I'm having enlarged for Dr. Greenhill's walls. )
But... in the meantime I scrolled back in time to see if I had already posted this shot. I highly recommend that when you are feeling a little stressed you take 5 minutes to look through your last year of posts. It's a fun way to enjoy life. I purpose to not complain too much on my blog so it's a stroll through the fun times in life and it lifted my spirits!

continue to have a voice!

I'm looking into finding out how (or if) the vote happened last week concerning the HPV vaccine. But here's another one that's worth your 2 minutes:

SB 79 - The Ultrasound Bill - Requires abortionist to offer face-to-face consultation and availability of ultrasound for patient.

SB 42 - Public Decency Act - Bars total nudity in sex businesses and prevents patrons from groping/touching performers.

SB 1 - The CATS Test - Changes CATS test to family-friendly evaluation, not just school evaluation AND it saves millions.

SB 68 - Child Welfare in Adoption Act - Requires that child not be placed in the home of cohabiting, “live-in lovers.”

SB 186 - Special Needs Ed - Allows parents access to special needs funds when public school cannot meet the child’s needs.

The Legislative Message Line is 1-800-372-7181 and is open Mon-Thurs from 7:00 am until 11:00 pm EST. It closes on Fridays at 6:00 pm. If you do not know who you legislators are, the receptionist can help you. Tell the receptionist to leave this message for your State Senator and Representative: “Pass SB 79 (The Ultrasound Bill), SB 42 (Public Decency Act), SB 1 (The CATS Test), SB 68 (Child Welfare in Adoption Act), and SB 186 (Special Needs Ed).”

It's a bird! It's a plane! No.......

...it's PIGS FLYING!!

That's right. I did it. I bought 6 clothe diapers and Jen can prove it.

I was standing in Sam's staring at the size 5's for JP overnight and thought to myself, "Kris, you really could give in and buy the darn things. He poops in the potty now and he only wears them at nap and bed."

So, if you see the flying piggy's it's because I did something that I said would only happen when pigs fly. Don't worry if you work in the church nursery, you won't catch Anella in them any time soon.

Simply Cheese

Check this out if your family likes cheese. I have had this cheese and it was really good but I thought it was going to be really expensive so I didn't pursue it. Come to find out it's cheaper than what I buy at Kroger and its fresh Amish cheese which is high quality, RBGH/BST artificial hormone-free, and local. Can't beat that!
